preparing for my baby
Drugs
If you are involved in or affected by drug and alcohol use, there are a
number of agencies who work with young people who can help. They can offer
you information and support. Using recreational drugs when you are pregnant
can harm your baby or, in some case, it can cause death, so it is essential
that you receive specialist help and advice if you are affected in any way. This
can also maximise your chances of receiving the help that you need to care
for your baby. All the services are confidential and free.
If you are worried about confidentiality ask someone to explain their policy to you when you arrive or phone.
If you are not sure about whether or not to make an appointment to see one of
the agencies, you can always phone them first for a chat.
