after my baby is born
Counselling
Sometimes pregnancy can put a strain on your relationships with
your partner, friends and family or guardians. It can help to
talk to someone not involved with your situation who has experience
in talking to young people about difficult feelings.
Whatever decision you have made regarding your pregnancy, you may
well have very confusing feelings. Counselling involves talking
about your feelings to someone who can help you to make sense
of them. The counsellor will not advise you, but will listen to
you and support you in finding ways of coping with your feelings
or even your new lifestyle. Worries could be about relationships,
feelings of pressure, feeling lonely or depressed. You may be
asking yourself, who am I? Did I do the right thing? Or you may
not be able to pinpoint what’s wrong.
Hear & Now is a free counselling service for all young people
between the ages of 11 and 18, who live or study in the borough
of Redbridge. If you would like an appointment to meet with a
counsellor, you can phone and give your details and when a suitable
appointment is free, an appointment letter will be sent out to
you. If you do not want to phone yourself, any other adult who
knows you well or professional who you are in touch with, can
phone or send in a referral form on your behalf.
